What is the difference between AI Screener and AI Assistant mode?
AccuScreener offers two distinct AI screening modes, each serving a different purpose:
- AI Assistant Mode: In this mode, the AI analyses each citation and provides a recommendation (include/exclude) alongside supporting reasoning during both title/abstract and full-text screening. The AI's decisions are visible to the human screener, acting as a guide to help them make faster, more consistent decisions. The final decision always rests with the human screener.
- AI Screener Mode: In this mode, the AI conducts an independent evaluation of each citation in parallel with human reviewers, using the same predefined PICOS criteria and hierarchy. Crucially, the AI's decisions are hidden from the human screener during the review process to prevent bias. The AI decisions are only revealed and compared after both reviews are complete, enabling objective assessment of agreement and discordance.
